During the 1900’s two deadly wars were raging on, the civil war in Sierra Leone and the genocide in Rwanda. The civil war in Sierra Leone began in March 1991, while the genocide began in 1994. Combined these two wars killed upward of 1,050,000 people, and affected the lives of all the people that lived there. The conflicts in Sierra Leone and Rwanda occurred for different major reasons, but many little aspects were similar. Politics and Ethnicity were the two main conflicts, but despite the different moments rebellions and the murder of innocent people occurred in both places. Politics was the factor that caused the Sierra Leone Civil War, while ethnicity and years of oppression fueled the genocide in Rwanda. The leaders of the armies would convince the children that the enemy was who had killed their family, which may have influenced their decisions not to flee. Along with the recruitment of the child soldiers these wars caused the deaths of many innocent people. In Rwanda despite the â€Å"hatred† between the two groups many people were not apart of any army. Despite that fact many were still killed and children were killed too, not child soldiers, young babies and children because of who their parents were. This was the same in Sierra Leone, villages were burned and families were killed even though they had no part in the political destruction in the country. They armies would go around burning the villages and towns down, forcing people to run for their lives, and killing others. Many villages and places in these countries were burned, ransacked, and destroyed due to the conflict. The wars heavily altered both these countries political systems, economy, and development. Both these conflicts were detrimental to Sierra Leone and Rwanda, in similar ways. The murder of innocent children affects the future generations of the country. Along with the poor conditions that the young children will grow up in, they will also have to rebuild the economic and political structure. This is due to my interest in them and the confidence I have in producing my own, which I found from GCSE television advertising work and in my ability to deconstruct existing films. There are different risk management practice that should be followed during the development lifecycle of a project (Frigo Anderson, 2012). Structural-Functional Theory is society works together as a whole through many smaller areas. Several groupings such as culture, customs and traditions combine while at the same time are separate. Every country on earth has varying culture, customs and traditions but unite under one banner, the country. All must stay within self- imposed restraints to keep functional. Too much to the left or right will impose an imbalance that could have a negative impact on their surroundings and eventually have a direct impact on society itself. In this election year the structural-functional approach concerning the political system will be tested to the breaking point. There are several key components to include special interest groups, all of the political parties and the specific branches of government. Special interest groups are supporting whatever individual the feel will put the most money in their pockets and support their way of thinking. With the exception of the Democratic Party, the inc umbent is the nominee, everyone thinks they are the front runner and none have the same outlook on how the nation should be run. One of the most brilliant and wise presidents that has served, Thomas Jefferson, clearly believed too much control by the Government would ruin a nation. Unless something happens in the near future I believe that you are seeing the coming extinction of the Structural-functional theory as it relates to this nation. Social-Conflict Theory is a Marxist-based theory which argues that individuals and groups within society have differing amounts of material and non-material resources and that the more powerful groups use their power in order to exploit groups with less power. While simply driving a car we know to stop when we see a stop sign or a red light. This theory is ingrained into us from birth. As a child we know and come to learn when certain things present their self we will perform a certain action and hope we achieve our goal. Social-Conflict Theory and politics, it is well understood in this country that in order to run for a high office or to gain political ground you need to have considerable funding. In stating this, the arena of politics is left to a select few. It doesn?t matter at what level of politics that you are discussing unless you have the support you will not gain your goal. The higher levels you attempt to gain the more intense the interference of special interest groups and individuals become. Everyone has a vote, but does it really matter. You may have an individual running for an office that really has the hearts of the people in mind and really wants to help but doesn?t have the available avenues or support to get them to their goal. On the other hand you have an individual who have their old agenda and is working only to get into office supported by special interest groups. Just by the day-to-day exposure on the available Medias people get brainwashed into accepting this individuals pr ograms. Whereas the individual who doesn?t have the backing is limited to how his efforts get put out to society. Again, individuals and groups within society having more material and non-material resources use their power in order to exploit groups with less power.
